Tenzin Phakdon is a second year PhD student in Environmental Engineering. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Government Engineering College, CG (India) and a Masters in Environmental engineering from University of Arizona funded by a TSP scholarship under the Fulbright Program. She has experience operating bench scale advanced oxidation processes to investigate the role of singlet oxygen in removal of trace organic contaminants in effluent wastewater. Her research focuses on treatment of landfill leachate using hybrid osmotically driven membrane processes, i.e. reverse osmosis, forward osmosis and membrane distillation.
