Huitzilin Ortiz

Huitzilin Ortiz is an SBAR Education fellow working with the Tohono O’Odham Nation to bring SBAR curriculum to students and the broader community in partnership with Ms. Valentina Andrew. Ms. Ortiz is a high school science teacher pursuing a doctorate at the University of Arizona in Teaching, Learning and Sociocultural Studies. She is passionate about bringing STEM education to underserved populations, as demonstrated by her research emphasis on indigenizing science education.
