New Partnership Announced
The SBAR Center has recently been awarded a grant from the Agnese Nelms Haury Program (Environmental and Social Justice) to build on the existing Extension & Outreach Component’s work in 4-H Youth Development through the fall of 2021. The awarded funds will be used in alignment with established SBAR goals that will leverage and build on the Arizona 4-H STEM and Sustainability in Agriculture Program. The funds will (1) support the development of a senior 4-H STEM Ambassador Initiative to be implemented in Arizona; (2) be used to modify existing SBAR curriculum for cultural relevancy in rural areas; and (3) support the development of a senior 4-H STEM Internship program that enables engagement in Tribal communities and rural areas in the science of building a sustainable bioeconomy. We envision that this will enhance the internship program currently offered through SBAR in collaboration with Central Arizona College – Project Puente.
