SBAR Hosts Workshops
The SBAR Youth Development team hosted the second of three SBAR/4-H STEM Exploration Workshops on Saturday, February 26th in Navajo County. The workshops are designed to provide youth development professionals hands-on experience with SBAR-designed curricula and activities while learning how to incorporate sustainability and engineering topics into existing activity plans. Taking experiential learning opportunities to rural areas of Arizona will help to foster the creation of a sustainable bioeconomy.
The workshop was led by Associate in Extension for 4-H Curriculum Development, Matt Swanson, Program Coordinator, David Shafer, and Arizona Cooperative Extension Equine Specialist, Dr. Betsy Greene. Matt and David modeled the use of the SBAR activity kits and distributed the supplies and curriculum plans so that teachers and volunteers could easily replicate the activities with youth in their communities.
The next workshop will take place at the Yavapai County Cooperative Extension Office in Prescott, AZ, on March 26th . Register to attend the workshop today to get your own take-home kit! More information is available on our website.
