Professional Development for Teachers: Biofuels - Part A

When

midnight to 11:50 p.m., June 18, 2018

Teacher + Fellow = SBAR Partnerships

The SBAR Teacher/Fellow partnerships will launch this summer with participation of teachers and fellows in a 1 week 4-H summer camp on Biofuels (June 18-22), followed by a second week of curriculum exploration and design (June 25-29).

Six teachers from Tucson, AZ and Las Cruces, NM will work alongside Graduate Student Fellows from the University of Arizona and New Mexico State University to explore how SBAR topics can fit into existing curriculum.

Teachers, Fellows, and Students will delve into new examples of innovative biofuels, as well as analyze the local economic connections to biofuels and products in the arid Southwest. The partnerships will continue into the Fall of 2018 and the Spring of 2019 as Fellows spend time with the teachers designing interactive practices for use in the K-12 classroom.
