Graduate Interdisciplinary Program

Are you interested in a future job as a research professional in the field of bioenergy, biofuels, and novel agricultural systems research? Do you want to support and further the creation of a sustainable global bioeconomy? Then you’ve come to right place.

The SBAR Center supports the creation of the Sustainable Bioeconomy and Bioenergy (SBB) Emphasis within the Applied Biosciences Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs (GIDP) at the University of Arizona. Students participating in this program earn a Professional Science Master’s Degree that prepares them for careers in the biotechnology and health science industries. Completing the program includes foundational practical training in various areas of applied biosciences, along with “cross-training” in workplace skills, such as business, research, and regulatory affairs. A mandatory internship is an integral part of the experience. During the course of their studies, students will gain an understanding of the applications of the biological sciences to real world problems, including those faced by public and private industry.
